Good Tucker Stall at Djarindjin/Lombadina

Boab Health Services community dietitian Tobi Farquhar facilitated a fantastic Good Tucker Stall at Djarindjin/Lombadina in early august,  in partnership with the community’s UFPA Community Cultural Carers Nathan Sampi and Natasha George. The Good Tucker stall aimed to increase awareness about diabetes prevention and management, build  rapport with community members, encourage people to get involved with a healthy cookup and increase awareness about what the community Dietitian does,  as well as displaying and distributing healthy eating resources. The team chatted to community members all morning and cooked up some fried rice which was very popular. Ten people completed a ‘test your diet’ quiz and made healthy diet goals, and Boab Health received plenty of positive feedback about the event.
