OUR STORY
From 4 staff in Broome to the whole Kimberley
Boab Health Services has grown from a small general practice division into the only non-government health service working right across the region.
1998
Founded as the Kimberley Division of General Practice, four staff working behind Roebuck Bay Backpackers in Broome.
2012
Became Boab Health Services, governed by a board of directors. Mental health and care coordination funding followed.
Today
Around 30 staff across Broome, Kununurra, and Wyndham, and the only non-government health service with a footprint across the entire Kimberley.
HEALTH EQUALITY
Care that meets people where they are
Our clients are mostly Kimberley residents, many of them Aboriginal people living with complex chronic conditions.
We are a mainstream provider, but we are community-based, working to deliver culturally appropriate care that meets people where they are.
