New CEO appointed for Boab Health
Boab Health Services has a new CEO with the February appointment of Matt Burrows. Laura Handscombe, who stepped-up into the role of acting CEO between October and January 2019, now resumes her role as Deputy CEO and Corporate Services Manager.
Matt most recently was the CEO of Therapy Focus, one of Australia’s leading professional therapy services for people with disabilities.
Matt has experience in both regional and metropolitan contexts and is a specialist in remote areas, having worked for nearly two decades in Kalgoorlie, Port Hedland, Alice Springs, Broome, and across all the vast lands in-between.
Matt is an MBA qualified Chartered Secretary who has been a regular presenter of the Governance Institute’s not-for-profit certificate course. He has contributed to the governance of National Disability Services and has been a director on the board of at least three not-for-profit organisations. He currently serves on the Governance Committee of Amnesty International Australia.
Matt is passionate about social justice and is currently a DBA Candidate with the John Curtin Institute for Public Policy at Curtin University, looking at effective governance models that empower people with disabilities as consumers of care services.
